What happens to your money, and when
The questions worth answering before you need them. Every figure here comes from the same place the software charges from, so it cannot drift out of date.
If you are shipping
When is my card charged?
Your card is authorized when you book and charged after you confirm the load arrived — not before.
The hauler did not show up. What now?
Cancel the booking. If the pickup window has passed and the load was never collected, that costs you nothing — then post the load again to take fresh bids.
My load arrived damaged, or did not arrive at all.
Open a dispute before confirming delivery. That blocks the charge while both sides file what they have.
Is my load insured?
Not by HaulHand. The hauler carries their own insurance, and HaulHand does not hold or check a certificate — so ask them for one before you accept a bid.
How do I know a hauler is legitimate?
A person approves every hauler account before it can bid — but that is not a background check, so here is how to check one yourself.
If you are hauling
When do I get paid?
After the shipper confirms delivery, or automatically once the confirmation window closes if they do not respond.
Either way
What does it cost to cancel?
Nothing before the hauler sets off. After that, $75 today — all of it to the hauler — rising to $2.25 a mile once we can measure the distance.
What does HaulHand cost?
Free to post a load and free to bid. Our fee — 10% on the first $2,000, then 5% — is added to the shipper's total when a booking is made.
Still stuck?
HaulHand has not opened yet, so there is no support queue to join — and pretending otherwise would waste your time. Tell us what you move and where you run, and we will open your corridor first.
